What’s up today Mexico?


Ok we’re only 2 days away from Sept 16, Independence day for Mexico & the grand celebration that will mark  the 200th anniversary of the  launch of the Independence movement.  Also, remember that the annual “El Grito” ceremony is held at midnight on the 15th.

As for Sept 13, today is the day on which heroes of the Mexican-American war are commemorated. Young soldiers dubbed “Niños Héroes” ( Child Heroes). Six young cadets and the story of how they sacrificed their lives at Chapultepec Castle are highlighted and extolled.  President Felipe Calderon headed the annual commemorative ceremony this morning in honor of those who died a  patriotic death.
