Mexican Online Radio

I recently ran across a great webpage that has a list of links to all kinds of  radio stations from all across Mexico.  Keep up with latest news, en vogue music, find fun variety programing, you can even listen to university radio stations, & much more!  Whether you speak Spanish and are looking to keep in touch with what going on with Mexico, or are learning Spanish and looking for a cool and fun way to sharpen your listening/comprehension skills, or maybe you just want to learn about a new culture or get into a new type music . Or if you’re Mexican & want to keep up with the latest in your state, or  hometown… etc  Here is your fix my friends!

The link is:

http://www.mexico-radio.com

Ok, Once you are on the page, you will find a list on the left side(it will be under the bright orange button that says Mexico). This  is a list of all the Mexican States A-Z. Once you click on a state a list of all the stations that belong to that state will drop down. *To listen to Mexico City radio stations click on  “Distrito Federal” first, then “Cd. de Mexico” (which stands for Ciudad de Mexico= Mexico City).  After you choose the State & city you want to listen to, a list with the different media player(windows, real, iTunes, “otro” = other) options will appear in the middle of the page.  Clicking “Web” is the easiest, because it automatically directs you to the radio station’s webpage & that will most likely have a media player already broadcasting. This won’t work for all so you might have to fiddle a bit & choose a  media player that’s right for you. If a connection is down, or there’s some compatibility issues, don’t despair keep trying or switch to another station , the choices really are plentiful & it’s not that hard to get it going in a matter of seconds.

Ok ,well hope you guys finds this post : cool, informative, and helpful. ENJOYNESS MUCH!!  =)

Mexican Reality TV

La Academia’s (The Academy)winner was crowned last night.  The live final took place in Chiapas. The three finalists: Napoleon Robleto 23 from Guatemala, 15 year old Giovana Paz =Mexico, &  Sebastián Martingaste 26 from Argentina.  Big excitement and a grandiose competition was anticipated as the climax built after the exciting semi final during the previous week. The semi-final was a battle down to the wire during a special concert in which the contestants flew to Guatemala for their performance. As for the final: When all was said & done, it was none other than the baby of the group Miss Giovana who was left standing as 2009’s  La Academia Champion.

What’s “La Academia’?  Well, it’s kinda  like American Idol meets Big Brother meets… a whole bunch of others stuff. =)  You really have to watch to truly experience the full effect.   The show has garnered many fans & has gained popularity both  in Mexico & Abroad. The premise of the show: contestants battle  it out in weekly  singing duels & are also judge on group performances in order to win the honor of being launched as up & coming artists. They compete for: a singing contract, the release of their debut CD, prize money , national & international recognition, among other prizes. As t hey show goes along the different competitors gain fans and it’s pretty interesting to see it each following grow some fan base growth becomes a total phenomenon. La Academia though based in Mexico, opens it’s doors to international contestants and those who have joined include: contestents from the U.S. , Central & South America & even some European contestants.

The contestants once past auditions, & having been selected are assigned to live & study at the academy. Thy are given super star makeovers,  vocal, dance, physical training, and instruction by professionals on the basics of stardom & the industry: how to carry  & represent themselves as superstars in the media & publics eye. Basically it’s like super star boot camp.   It was an unpredictable thrill ride for the students of “La Academia” as the contest brought them new, exciting ,and unexpected experiences. Besides being able to have private  voice, dance teachers, stylists, they were able to travel, meet & mingle with many celebrities , including those who served as judges.

While at the academy they were surprised with  several visits by secret celebrity guests who offered them  warm & friendly  advice & spent time hanging out with them.  They also took part in various fun activities that helped  them bond as a group and provided for  adventures such : as  being  able to take boxing  lesson from a pro,  get cooking lessons from star chefs & &  participating in their own high end runway show to celebrate fashion week with help form big names in the fashion world. The show has been going on for quite a few seasons now & has become a very successful franchise.
